Using Tombow Dual Brush pens for stamping

Hello, crafty friends. Have you ever needed a dye ink color that you did not have? Well I have a solution for you.

I am in desperate need of dye inks for stamping images and  with our favorite brands currently out of stock, I needed to improvise. My solution was combining the few dye inks I have along with Tombow dual brush pens to create the layers of my stamped image.

I started my project by using the Tim Holtz stamp platform and the leaf from the Altenew Build-A-Flower: Hibiscus stamp set.

I placed the base of the leaf image on the stamp platform and colored the stamp using the Tombow 991 dual brush pen.

After stamping the first layer, I lined the second layer directly over the first stamped image, colored the stamp with Tombow 173 dual brush pen, and stamped.

For the third and fourth layered image, I decided to use an acrylic block and not the stamping platform. When stamping only a few images, using an acrylic block was easier for me to line up the images, however, when stamping multiple I would continue using my stamping platform.

In addition to using the acrylic block I always stamp on a foam mat for a better impression. The foam mat is sold by The Stamps of Life.

Here is the final results and I love how the leaves came out. Let nothing stand in your creative path!

I hope today's technique will inspire you when you are in need of additional dye ink colors. I can't wait to see your improvised creations. Hugs!

Plane and Simple

Hello, welcome to my blog. Today's card will showcase the Lawn Fawn's Plane and Simple stamp set and Simple Puffy Clouds die.

This 4 1/4 x 5 1/2-inch top folding note card was created out of a 8 1/2 x 11-inch card stock that was cut in half. Once my card base was cut out, I used my stitched rectangle dies from The Stamp of Life to create two layering pieces.

I decided to use my Copic markers to color my plane images and stamped my sentiment using Gina K. Design Obsidian Amalgam Ink. The following Copic colors are as follows:
V01,04,06 and 09
R00,24,27,and 39
B00,02,05,and 26
C03,05,and 07
N01,04,06,and 08

Unfortunately, my inked background was created a while ago for a different project that I ended up not using. For that reason, I do not remember the exact Distress ink colors that were used. However, to create the background, I used the My Favorite Things Cloud Stencil along with Distress ink and  Picket Fence Life Changing Brushes.

I stamped and die cut the Lawn Fawn compass from the Ahoy Matey stamp set and added Pretty Pink Posh white jewels for added sparkle. I also applied Spectrum Nior sparkle pen on my clouds for shimmer.

Thinking of you part two

Hello, welcome to my blog. Today I wanted to share another card featuring the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Butterflies June 2020 card kit.

This 4 1/4 x 5 1/2-inch top folding note card was created out of a 8 1/2 x 11-inch card stock that was cut in half. Once my card base was cut out, I used my stitched rectangle dies from The Stamp of Life to create two layering pieces.

I kept the larger stitched die cut completely white as the middle layering piece. The smaller stitched die cut was stamped using Vera Mark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Before you heat emboss, make sure you use the anti-static powder tool so the embossing powder only sticks to your stamped area.

After I was done heat embossing, using the same panel, I used my Picket Fence life changing blender brushes and Distress ink ( picked raspberry, wilted violet, and mermaid lagoon) to create the  background. By heat embossing first, the Distress ink will not adhere to the white butterflies. You can use a soft cloth or paper towel to wipe the ink from the embossed areas. Using the same Distress ink colors, I applied the same ink blending to the base of the note card.

I stamped my Thinking of You sentiment on a white strip of card stock that was stacked three high for added dimension. I finished my card by mixing some Lawn Fawn stardust with water and used a paint brush to flick the stardust onto my panel. I also added some Pretty Pink Posh clear jewels for additional sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of you

Hello, and happy Tuesday 😊 Today's card will showcase products from wonderful companies we all love.

I started my card by cutting a 8 1/2 x 11-inch card stock into 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, top folding notecard. I proceeded to use a hexagon die to cut the center of my card. Make sure to open the card before you send it through your die cut machine.

Beautiful Butterflies stamp set by Simon Says Stamp, as part of their monthly kit, was used as the focal point of my card. For the front of the card, I stamped with the My Favorite Things Brushed Spatter background stamp while using the same Distress ink colors to blend the background (squeezed lemonade, peacock feathers, and picked raspberry). I cut a small strip of card stock three times for added dimension and stamped my sentiment (sssck). I finished the card using Sparkling clear jewels from Pretty Pink Posh and Spectrum Noir glitter pen to make the butterfly shimmer.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and happy crafting

Congrats

Hello, crafters. I absolutely adore the Altenew Mariposa Die set! I can't get enough of the cute butterflies <3

Today's card was inspired by the talented Jennifer McGuire on using background dies to create an open border die-cut card. I added glitter paper to the butterflies for added sparkle, along with Pretty Pink Posh jewels. I die cut the word congrats three times for added dimension while finishing with Nuvo Crystal Glaze.
